San Francisco SafeHouse Earns the 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency

By Gillian Hughes

We are proud to share that San Francisco SafeHouse has earned the 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid, the leading source for nonprofit data in the U.S, for the third year in a row!

This honor is nationally recognized as one of the highest levels of recognition a nonprofit can receive for openness and accountability, putting SafeHouse among fewer than 1% of nonprofit organizations across the U.S. that hold the Platinum status.

To qualify for the Platinum Seal of Transparency, nonprofit organizations must publicly share:

  • Organization’s goals, strategies, and impact

  • Year-by-year impact data

  • Year-by-year financial statements

  • Demographic information for leadership, board, and staff

These measurements of transparency year after year have included the regular updating of our outcomes and impact, explaining how we measure success, and being transparent about both our achievements and the challenges we face. Maintaining this award for three years in a row is a testament to our commitment to accountability, openness, and transparency.

At SafeHouse, we are committed to sharing clear, accurate information about who we serve, how we operate, and how we use the resources entrusted to us.

What does this mean for you? It means you can give, partner, and advocate with confidence, knowing that SafeHouse operates with integrity and clarity. The Platinum Seal is not just a badge, but it’s a promise to remain open, honest, and responsive as we work to break the cycle of homelessness and exploitation for survivors in San Francisco.
