WE HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS TO REPORT!

WE ARE HAPPY TO UPDATE YOU ON OUR WORK DURING THE COVID-19 CRISIS,

Picture

Due in part to your generous donations, over 20 of our Hope Center clients moved into clean, safe rooms at one of our partner hotels.   We were one of the very first nonprofits in San Francisco to accomplish this; our women have been housed since April 3rd.  We’ve provided an on-site housing coordinator who stays at the hotel to support the women, and our case managers continue to work closely (but virtually) with them.  We’ve formed partnerships with two food-related nonprofits, so that our women receive two wholesome daily meals delivered to the hotel.

The Hope Center continues to serve women still living on the streets – although in a less personal and more “virtual” way.  We hold support groups online on women’s empowerment and healthy relationships, and attendance has been encouraging.  Our case managers communicate regularly by phone or text with many of the clients.  And we continue to work on plans for re-opening our critically important drop-in center for women – plans that will allow us to open in a manner that’s safe for both clients and staff.

The women living at SafeHouse continue to be healthy.  Like all of us, they are experiencing the frustrations of staying at home, and miss going to work or school.  Letters of support and encouragement, or care packages for our women, would be enormously appreciated!  Contact info@safehouse.org for more information, or mail cards to SF SafeHouse, P.O. Box 40369, SF CA 94140.

We sincerely thank all of you for your donations and support for SafeHouse and the Hope Center.  The women we serve, the staff, and the board – we so appreciate you!
