San Francisco SafeHouse is participating in Giving Tuesday 2020, the global day of unity and giving. As you know, our organization to empower and support womxn who are experiencing housing instability and sexual exploitation or trafficking, by creating survivor-centered spaces, services, advocacy, and community education.
In 2013, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the World Day against Trafficking in Persons to bring awareness about the situation of victims of human trafficking and their rights. Trafficking in persons is a serious crime, and both child and adult victims around the globe are forced to do hard labor, domestic servitude, sexual acts and routinely experience other forms of exploitation and abuse.
July 30th is the day the world recognizes human trafficking as a hideous crime that exploits women, children and men in their own countries and abroad. The goal is preventing abuse, exploitation, and to eliminate all forms of violence and forced labour.
